Paddy McCarthy signs new three-year deal with Palace

Nick, nack, paddy whack, give that man a contract. Or something else less little bit racist. Anyway! Palace captain Paddy McCarthy has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

The 29-year-old played 50 times for The Eagles last season and has now racked up 147 games for Palace since singing from Charlton (boo) four years ago.

The new deal take him through to 2015, where no doubt he'll still be giving away penalties one minute and then making brilliant last-ditch challenges the next.

He told Palace's official website: "I'm delighted, it was something that myself, the manager and the chairman have been talking about for some time so it's great to have it sorted.

"I thought we made good progression last year and speaking to the manager I know we're going to push on again this season.

"Everything's positive about the place, I'm very happy here and have a great relationship with everybody at the club."
